Skye Children’s Co-Operative is a community based not-for-profit childcare centre located in Macleod within the City of Banyule in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Goal: The goal of this project was to strategically plan and deliver a digital transformation for Skye Children's Cooperative, including new branding and a new website. The funding for this project was provided as part of Banyule Council's COVID-19 Local Grants program in 2022.
Requirements: Skye had an existing three page website which was several years old and did not adequately reflect their organisation. They wanted to utilise a local government grant to develop branding and a new website which would be managed by volunteers, so it was important to provide a platform which was intuitive and easy to use.
Recommendation: Based on these requirements, we brought in a graphic designer to work with Skye on their branding requirements, and recommended a website in a SaaS platform which generally require minimal management and overheads but are very easy to use. Squarespace provides free comprehensive video and text-based instruction manuals which will enable simple onboarding of new volunteers with minimal overhead into the future.
Outcomes: The new website was developed using new branding and content. The site structure includes a comprehensive primary navigation menu, image gallery, a news blog, an FAQ, a contact form and links to an external booking engine.
