Name: Australian Technical Analysts Association
Project: Digital and data transformation
Status: Complete, April 2020

The Australian Technical Analysts Association (ATAA) is a national not-for-profit membership organisation focused on the analysis of financial instruments using market data.

Overview: In 2019, ATAA engaged WebSolutionZ to assess its ageing digital environment and recommend a future-ready solution. The existing infrastructure was complex and fragile, with limited documentation, no development pipeline and significant cybersecurity concerns. Following a digital discovery and stakeholder engagement process, we proposed a complete transformation project to modernise platforms, reduce dependency on external developers and improve member experience.

Engagement highlights:

  • Strategy and discovery phase applying a Design Thinking approach
  • Proof of concept delivered to validate core requirements and proposed architecture
  • Full design and build of a new CMS website and integrated membership platform
  • Implementation of self-managed functionality including:
    • Membership subscriptions
    • Event bookings
    • File downloads
    • Member newsletters
    • Video learning library hosted on Amazon S3
  • Extensive data migration of member and subscription records, legacy content and media
  • Redesigned access control model (ACL) to streamline admin functions and improve security
  • On-page SEO improvements across key content areas
  • Seamless transition to new hosting with zero downtime for members
  • Ongoing governance and vendor coordination throughout the project lifecycle

Outcomes: This transformation resulted in a secure, efficient and scalable digital ecosystem that empowered both members and administrators. The modernised platform eliminated fragile legacy processes, supported long-term sustainability and reduced annual operating costs by approximately 75%. As a result, the organisation gained greater digital independence and freed up resources to reinvest in member services.
