Name: Warringal Conservation Society
Project: Website redevelopment, platform migration, and digital onboarding
Status: Complete, May 2018

Warringal Conservation Society is a long-standing, volunteer-led environmental organisation based in Melbourne, dedicated to protecting and restoring natural spaces in the region.

Goal: The organisation’s original one-page HTML website was outdated and no longer fit for purpose. They needed a modern, maintainable platform that would support their membership, highlight activities and preserve decades of newsletters and resources – all within a very tight budget.

Requirements: The project involved end-to-end digital redevelopment, including domain and hosting migration, content scoping, new membership functionality, file archival and publishing tools, and a highly simplified admin experience tailored to users with minimal technical knowledge.

Recommendation: We built a clean, accessible site with custom streamlining of the underlying content management system to reduce clutter and confusion. Features included a structured file archive for legacy newsletters, an online membership form and a news section for ongoing community updates. Extensive training and hands-on support were also provided for long-term maintainability.

Outcomes: The new site dramatically improved the organisation’s ability to communicate with members, archive its history, and encourage new supporters to get involved. It balanced functionality and simplicity, empowering volunteers of all skill levels to manage content with confidence.
