Name: txt4two
Project: Website for mobile health intervention program
Status: Complete, May 2014
txt4two was a technology-driven health initiative developed by Deakin University’s Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research. The program aimed to support healthy pregnancy outcomes through mobile messaging and online tools that promoted healthy eating, physical activity and appropriate weight gain.
Goal: The website served as a central hub for participants and healthcare providers to access resources and information during the research and pilot phase of the program.
Requirements: The platform needed to be secure, easy to navigate and accessible on multiple devices. It also had to reflect academic credibility while being user-friendly for expecting parents.
Recommendation: We developed a standalone site on Joomla CMS, designed to support early engagement, content delivery and user tracking during the pilot. The site complemented mobile messaging with easy access to educational materials and interactive features.
Outcomes: Following approval of the pilot, the program transitioned to an app-based model, and the website was decommissioned. The project played a foundational role in shaping the program’s digital delivery model.
