Yarra Valley Hockey Club is a leading Melbourne-based sporting organisation offering participation across all age groups and levels, from beginner programs through to Premier League competition.
Goal: The club sought to improve its digital presence after their existing WordPress site became severely compromised. WebSolutionZ was initially brought in for support but quickly identified the need for a complete rebuild on a more stable, scalable platform.
Requirements: The project involved migrating legacy content, defining a new structure, and creating a flexible, section-based admin model for committee and club members. Key functionality included a club-wide calendar, document management for policies, a news blog and content permissions tailored to teams and age groups. Hosting and domain configurations also required a full technical transition.
Recommendation: We delivered a new website with simplified front-end access and a streamlined admin dashboard, restructured to allow contributors from different club sections (Mens, Womens, Masters, Junior) to manage their own pages independently. A permissions-based access model ensured role clarity while reducing complexity for volunteers. The homepage was integrated with the club’s social channels to enhance engagement.
Outcomes: The project transformed a legacy one-admin model into a collaborative platform with over 10 active contributors. The site provided a central hub for members, players, and parents, improving communication and visibility across the entire club community.
