JoomlaDay Australia 2017 was held in Sydney on 17 and 18 June. It was the first time the event was run as a national conference rather than city-specific, and it brought together Joomla users, developers and business owners from across the country.
WebSolutionZ was actively involved in planning and delivering the event, continuing our commitment to open source and community collaboration. The program featured a strong mix of technical sessions, business strategy and digital marketing content, designed to offer value to attendees from all backgrounds.
One of the key milestones was the first Joomla Certification exam ever held in Australia. As the first Certified Administrator in Australia, I also became the first official exam supervisor outside of Europe. Running the exam locally helped raise awareness of the certification program and encouraged more Australian Joomla professionals to pursue formal recognition.
Events like JoomlaDay Australia highlight the strength of the Joomla community in Australia. Despite the geographic spread, it’s a knowledgeable, generous and welcoming group of people who continue to support each other and the platform.
