Yarra Valley Hockey Club is a premier hockey club located in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, which offers hockey opportunities from beginner through to Premier League.
WebSolutionZ was initially engaged to take over management of an existing Wordpress site, however subsequent investigations revealed the site had been thoroughly compromised and would take more work to fix than to start over.
Subsequent discussions with the club president and various committee members around requirements led us to recommend a Joomla CMS website as it was a little more robust. The project included a new website build and a data migration exercise to export content from the old Wordpress site and import into the new Joomla build.
The new website includes a club Calendar, Document Management for policy management, fully customised ACL and simple front-end access for multiple users.
The ACL (permissions) structure allows granular access to the website on a "per section" basis. This means individuals from different sections (ie Mens, Womens, Masters, Junior) have logins to the website, where they can maintain their own section and also contribute new content, without access to any other parts of the site. Currently there are approximately 10 different contributors to the site. The site also incorporates the YVHC social media platforms directly into the website's home page.
As part of the project, we also set up new hosting for the club and ensured all email and passwords were correctly configured.
